Current 2014-2015 Scholarship Offerings

As scholarships arrive I will post their deadlines for students and parents.  Any student applying early to colleges to receive admittance and academic scholarships will also need to apply early to the colleges themselves for full academic scholarships such as Academic Honor and Dean Scholarships. 

AAA School Safety Patrol Scholarship Program requirements: documented proof of AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol participation in ele or middle school, good academic standing, strong record of community involvement or extra curricular activities, personal statement about safety patrol, counselor signature, $1,000, Deadline May 1, 2015. April 17th to the Counselor. 

Alex Harrison Memorial Scholarship is available to a CTC senior, have attended CTC for at least one year, must be accepted to a post-secondary institution, have a need.  Deadline

American Legion Auxiliary Dept. of Michigan has a medical career scholarship in the amount of $500. Applicants should be in the top quarter of their class. Candidates shall be a relative of an honorably discharged or deceased men or women veterans. Please see Mrs. Holmes for more information or www.michalaux.org

Aquinas College
*Academic Leadership Scholarships- Requirements: B+ or higher GPA and test scores, extra curricular activity and leadership $14,000-$16,000. 
*Monsignor Bukowski Scholarships-requires B+ or higher GPA and test scores; $14,000-$16,000 awards
*Presidential Leadership Scholarships-requires 3.0 GPA or higher and demonstrated leadership; $10,000-$14,000 awards
*St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarships-requires 2.7 GPA or higher and extra curricular activity; $10,000-$14,000 awards
*Father Philip Hanley Scholarships-requires 2.7 GPA and church activity; $10,000-$14,000 awards
*St. Dominic Out-Of-State Grant-for out of state freshman (can be combined with other scholarships) $2,000
*Valedictorian/National Merit Semifinalist Scholarships-$1,000 

Baker College Career Scholarships $6,400, all seniors are eligible

Baker College Scholarships:
Cadillac has twelve, $1,000 scholarships remaining for Fall 2015 incoming freshmen (high school seniors this year) who were involved in direct credit classes during the 2014-15 school year.  Please email audrey.charmoli@baker.edu for more information. 

Buick Achievers Scholarship awards up to $100,000 for a a high school senior that plans to attend a college or university full time in the fall and plans to major in engineering, technology, design or business. Visit the www.buickachievers.com for more details.  

Cadillac Woman's Club-Dolly Sprague Allied Health Field Scholarship: This scholarship is designed for specialized study in the health field.  It is available to students in the Wexford/Missaukee ISD.  Deadline March 28, 2015.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation requirements: student leader, community service, GPA 3.0+, www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org/applicants

Curtis Rexford Memorial Scholarship is offering a scholarship of $1000.00 to a senior who will be attending Cornerstone University in the fall of 2015. When awarded, the scholarship will be applied to students account AFTER one full semester and enrolled and attending the second semester.  Deadline: application post date no later than April 30 

Discover Colleges $2,500, www.discovercolleges.com.

Duane Elenbaas Scholarship available to a CTC senior, accepted to a post-secondary institution, and demonstrate a financial need.  Deadline April 15, 2015. 

Eagles Scholarship: Is awarding two scholarships in the amount of $500 for one senior Marion boy and girl.  

Falmouth Co-Op Scholarship: Is awarding two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 to students connected with agriculture and who's parents are actively conducting business with the Falmouth Cooperative Co. See Ms. Holmes or Mrs. Prielipp for application. 

Fremont Scholarship is offered to a high school senior.  Visit www.tfacf.org for further details. A list of detailed instructions is in the scholarship folder in Ms. Holmes office.  Deadline April 1, 2015. / Fremont common app online Deadline is March 1, 2015.

Fostering Success Michigan: requirements foster child.  Check the website for details www.fosteringsuccessmichigan.com

The Jennie Opper Continuing Education Scholarship will be available to Marion students and the amount is yet to be determined but students are encourage to apply when applications are available in the spring. 
 
JF and Dave Murray Masonic Scholarship is offering $1,000 to a high school senior with an IEP, and/or physical or cognitive impairment, be a resident of Michigan and plan on attending a college or vocational school full time, Deadline April 1, 2015.

James & William Finnerty Scholarship is available to a CTC senior, have attended CTC for at least one year, must be accepted to a post-secondary institution, have a need.  Deadline April 15,2015.

Jim Comp Memorial Scholarship Program is awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a career in Natural Resources or Environmental Study in the WMISD.  $1000 and $500 will be awarded.  Deadline April 15th, 2015.

Lake George Boosters Club Scholarship - all seniors eligible, $500, Deadline March 13, 2015.

Lawrence Tech is awarding $8000 to a 11th grade student attending Lawrence Tech and majoring in Engineering, Architecture, Arts & Science, and Management.  Deadline online by May 1, 2015

Lou B Winsor Masonic Lodge along with Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation is offering a scholarship that typically amounts to $1000.00
*Dave J & Violet Murray Scholarship is also available for students with a disability

Lucas Hammar Memorial Scholarship will offer one scholarship approx $1,000 see Ms. Holmes or Mrs. Prielipp for an application.  Deadline April 15th, 2015. 

Maple Leaf Dentistry Scholarship requirements: attending a 2 or 4 year college, enrolled in program, trade schools at least 2 year program, performed min. 100 hours of community service hours over the last 2 years (organization(s) will be called to verify hours), GPA 3.0+, www.peterboroughdentists.com, $500,

MEA 15-B Scholarship is offering four $300 awards to dependents of (ESP) support staff bargaining unit member and dependents of 15-B (EA) bargaining unit members.  Students who meet  this criteria are encourage to apply.  Deadline February 27, 2015.

MEA -Michigan Education Association is offering a scholarship to students whose parents are members of the MEA and work for public schools. There are several scholarships available and the deadline is February 27, 2015. Please see Ms. Holmes for an application and more information.

Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation is offering $1,000 to a high school senior who plans to attend college or vocational full time, lives in Michigan, make 4 copies, transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, and application by Deadline April 1, 2015

Michigan Oil & Gas Producers Education Foundation is offering a $500 scholarship to students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0, accepted for enrollment at a Michigan university or community college, and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must also be pursuing a degree in a field of study which will allow them full time employment in the crude oil and natural gas industry. Deadline April 2, 2015.

MMCC Technical Education Awards: $500 scholarships ($250 fall/winter semesters) will be granted to students who enroll in one of the following programs: Automotive Tech., Heating, Refrigeration & Air Cond.; Industrial Tech/Draft & Weld Tech., or Construction  Trades. Scholarships are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.  So apply early and see Ms. Holmes for more info.

Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) : Is Expecting to award at least 30- $1,000 scholarships and are not based on financial need.  To be eligible a student's parent must  be employed at a business that is a member of MRA.  Students can apply online at www.retailers.com under the Education and Events tab.  Apps must be requested by April 1, 2015.

Northern Michigan University: For the 2015 school year they are offering NMU Excellence Award, $3,000 pr. year, NMU Honors Award , $2,000 pr. year, NMU Success Award, $1,500 pr. year.  They also have other scholarships available.  

Osceola County Community Foundation Scholarship applications are now available to students online through their website at http://occf.squarespace.com/scholarships/.  An important link to application guidelines can also be found on that scholarship page. Marion students have receive scholarships from this foundation the last two years totaling thousands of dollars.

W.R. Angell Scholarship and Peta Williams Memorial Scholarship $2,000, 3.0 GPA, and attending Northwestern Michigan College in the fall of 2015 as a freshman and major in science. 

White & Helfrich Continuing Education Scholarship is also available to Marion students.  The amount is yet to be determined by the scholarship committee, but Marion students are encouraged to apply when applications are available.  

William G. Coyne Scholarship Program has a scholarship for a graduating high school senior. To be eligible students must have complete 30 or more hours of documented, qualified community service during their junior/senior year of high school ending May 1, 2015 and be a member of a family that has belonged to Credit Union One for a minimum of 6 months. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and plan to enroll in college or university, or accredited trade or vocational school by fall 2014. See the counselor for more info. 

Western Michigan University: They have added 10 new $50,000 scholarships for the fall 2015 incoming class. The foundation scholarships are awarded based on both academic performance and financial need.  Here is the link: www.wmich.edu/news/2014/11/20296    

Wexford Missaukee Career Technical Center Scholarships: To be eligible students must be a senior at WM-CTC and have attended WM-CTC for one year. Student must be accepted at a post secondary institution that grants a degree, certification or license OR have an letter from an employer. All applications are to be submitted to Julie Boss DEADLINE APRIL, 15, 2015
*The Alex Harrison Memorial Scholarship-amount is yet to be determined
*The Duane Elenbaas Scholarship is offering $3000.00 to the recipient AFTER the successful completion of a year of college with cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above. 
*The James & William Finnerty Scholarship-amount to be determined
