Are you experiencing a lack of a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence due to financial issues? Marion Public Schools wants you to know that, under the McKinney-Vento Act, there is help available. The McKinney-Vento Act is a federal law that provides educational rights and support for children and youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability. This includes students living in shelters, motels, cars, campgrounds, doubled up with other families, or other temporary living situations, due to financial loss. The law ensures students can enroll in school immediately, remain in their school of origin when appropriate, and receive services such as transportation and additional educational support to help them succeed academically.
