Important Notice

3-23-2022

On March 21, 2022, the Marion Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to add a half-day of school on Friday, April 15, 2022.

Additionally, the district has received forgiveness for 3 additional snow days. By adding a half-day of school on April 15th and with the additional three days forgiven, our last day of school is currently scheduled to be Tuesday, June 14, 2022. June 13th and June 14th would be half days of school. This date could change if there is more legislative action taken to forgive more days.

We have been asked about changing upcoming teacher professional development days to school days in an attempt to end school earlier in June. The state allows districts to use teacher professional development days to count toward the number of days of school that are required by the state. As a result, changing the professional development days to instructional days would have no impact on our last day of school.

If we receive any updates concerning the last day of school for the school year, we will update students, staff, and community members.
