The board has set aside this time for public comment. If you wish to make a public comment, please identify yourself by name (you may also give your address). An individual may make public comment for up to three minutes. We ask that no more than two individuals make public comment on the same topic until citizens with a different topic have had an opportunity to speak. We ask that concerns or complaints directed toward individuals be made privately or in writing to the Superintendent, Designee, or Board of Education.
If you are an individual who is in need of a reader, amplifier, qualified sign language interpreter, or any other form of auxiliary aid or service to attend or participate in the meeting or hearing, please contact Danyel Prielipp, Superintendent at 231-743-2486 at least one week prior to the meeting or as soon as possible.
This meeting is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in agenda item 4.
Game Time Change: The Middle School volleyball game scheduled for this evening (9/15) will now start at 5:30 with the JV volleyball game immediately following. The bus will leave the high school at 4:00.
Game Time Change: The JV Volleyball game at Grand Traverse Academy on Tuesday, September 15, will now start at 6:00 pm.
The Middle School volleyball game at GTA will start at 4:30.

An Important Message Regarding Breakfast and Lunches served at Marion Elementary and Marion Jr./Sr. High School. Our District continues to serve free breakfast and lunch every day to all students K-12 regardless of income. Our kitchen staff is committed to preparing and serving nutritious and delicious meals to our students. Please encourage your child to participate in the National School Lunch Program provided by Marion Public Schools.

At this time, Friday, September 11 at 2:25 p.m. the phones at Marion Public Schools are not working properly. Currently, we are not receiving incoming calls but are able to make outgoing calls. Our provider is working on the situation and will hopefully be fixed soon.

Middle School Girls Volleyball practice begins today at 5:30-6:30 in the elementary gym.
The JV/Varsity Volleyball game scheduled for Thursday, September 10, has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 15.

If you are a parent whose child(ren) are being taught virtually through Marion Public Schools and indicated you would like to take advantage of the breakfast/lunch program, a reminder that the meals will be assembled each Monday and need to be picked up between 10:00 and 10:45 a.m. for the entire week. This week only, the meals may still be picked up tomorrow, Wednesday, because of the short week. Please call 231-743-2486 with questions.

Football is back! On September 7th equipment will be handed out to JV and Varsity players at 6 PM on the practice football field. Practice will start on September 8th after school until 6:15. The first varsity game will be against Mesick on September 18th. Middle school practice will start September 8th from 6:00-7:30 PM on the practice football field. Sideline cheer will resume practice on September 8th after school until 5:00 PM. EAGLE PRIDE!
2020 Football will be reinstated with many restrictions. Stay tuned for more info as we get it.
Football and baseball were given 16 practices to use by October 31 by the MHSAA. Football practice will begin on September 8th and will be every Tuesday and Thursday for JV and Varsity Players. Baseball will begin on September 9th and will be every Monday and Wednesday for anyone in grades 7-12. Times for each sport will be 4-6 PM.

Don't forget picture day for Marion Jr./Sr. High school is tomorrow, September 3rd for all students in 7th-12th grade; this includes face-to-face and virtual. Gray is the only background option.
Virtual learners, we are ready to assist you. Come to the elementary library between 9-2 today or tomorrow to get your materials; middle school and high school students go to the high school media center between 1-3 today or tomorrow to get your materials. We can't wait to see you.
