
The Baseball game and MS track meet scheduled for tonight are both cancelled. Reschedule dates have not been determined.

Congratulations Weston Cox, Georgia Meyer, Nick Neuman and Mason Salisbury for being named West Michigan D League AAA Award winners. They were honored tonight at West Shore Community College for their commitments to academics, athletics and for their attitudes. Congratulations!


SEEDS Marion EcoSchool students learned about the incubation of chicken eggs. They began the countdown by incubating their own eggs in our classroom. Hands on learning is the best!



SEEDS Marion EcoSchool students learned to create their own paper lanterns using glue, water, balloons, and napkins. Each students used their own technique to cover the balloons creating layers. It was messy but rewarding and fun!


SEEDS Marion EcoSchool students worked in teams to engineer their own jelly bean towers. Their challenge was to build the tallest tower they could using only jelly beans and toothpicks and teamwork. Communication skills as well as determination were key for each team.




SEEDS Marion EcoSchool students constructed terrariums using materials they had foraged for in a previous lesson. They learned about closed environments and what it takes to build an ecosystem.



SEEDS Marion EcoSchool students visited Dow Gardens to explore their butterfly exhibit. They participated in a Jeopardy game to quiz them on their butterfly knowledge before handling the butterflies in the butterfly house. Near the end, they hiked some of the trails at Dow Gardens.


SEEDS Marion EcoSchool students went on a walking field trip through nature learning how to forage for moss and white cedar. They learned about the values of plants they were foraging for as well as how each item was used in traditional Anishinaabe culture.


The JV Baseball game that was scheduled for Monday in Baldwin will now be played Thursday, April 13 at 4:15 in Baldwin.

The softball and baseball games scheduled for Thursday, April 6, have been cancelled.

Marion Elementary had a special visit from their Yeti friend today. Our students proved they were "Yeti to learn" this month.


The Read-A-Thon last night was a huge success. Thank you parents and students for attending. Don't forget about the movie night on Friday!





The 2nd and 3rd grade music concert for tonight has been cancelled. It is rescheduled for Wednesday, March 22 at 6:00 PM in the elementary gym.

Please join our 2nd and 3rd grade classes this Thursday night (March 16th) at 6pm for an evening of pirates, feet, pickles, candy, and tongue twisters! They will be performing in the elementary gym so get a good seat!


The Penney War is on at Marion Elementary! Today's leader is Mrs. Clark/Mrs. Jones from the 4th grade.




It is a busy week at Marion Elementary. Our Read-A-Thon is Wednesday in the elementary library from 5:30-6:30; Thursday is our 2nd and 3rd grade music concert at 6:00 in the gym; and, Friday is MOVIE night from 5:45-8:00. We can't wait to see you.


Marion EcoSchool students learned to transplant a rose flower cutting by dipping the end in honey and planting it in a banana. The discussion involved nutrients, plant roots, and how different plants grow.
