Ladies and Gentlemen: I feel it necessary to update everyone on the Coronavirus as it relates to the immediate future here at Marion Public Schools. First, Governor Whittmer issued a "State of Emergency" here in Michigan, and our state now has two confirmed cases. Both MSU and CMU have shut down their respective campuses. Superintendents have been alerted more news is to follow today at 5 pm, to explain of what a "State of Emergency" means for a K-12 school. At this moment, MHSAA is advising schools to NOT CANCEL athletic events as a precaution. However, we just received word that this weekend's robotics competition was postponed by First Robotics. We realize there is contradiction on the state level, but this is the information we have at this time. If there are significant details from today's 5 pm press release, we will share with our staff, parents, and community. Thank you for staying tuned on this issue. Please take precaution and stay safe out there.

Here is a reminder from our Marion Youth Baseball and Softball Leagues. You still have some time to sign up tonight, or catch them next Monday at the elementary school.

The jv and varsity girls’ basketball teams recorded wins over Big Rapids Crossroads tonight. Great job girls!👍. The varsity will play NMC at NMC Monday at 6:00 for districts. Come out and cheer the girls on to victory!

The 7th and 8th grade band performed a “dress rehearsal” today for students. They will perform on Tuesday at Band Festival as will the high school band. We wish you the best!! ♥️🦅🎵

A friendly reminder from the Marion basketball program: Per the original schedule, there is no 3rd-8th grade basketball clinic for Sat. Feb. 22. Middle school girls’ teams have an all day tournament. Go out and show your support!

Congratulations to the Marion Jr/Sr Choir for their great festival performance today! They worked very hard and earned a II medal rating! Keep it up!

Marion Public Schools is launching a new mobile app that helps students, parents, and community members know what is happening on campus, right from their phones. We know that families are using smartphones as a primary means to communicate. That’s why we’ve created an app that is custom-built for mobile. On the app, you can find documents, contact information for staff, and event information. You can download the app for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Two wins tonight for girls jv and varsity basketball! The varsity team is now 11 and 3 in conference and 14 and 4 overall. Score of their game tonight was 50-27. Way to go, Eagles!! ♥️🦅🏀

Great week of 🦅 spirit; whether it was dressing for spirit days, the student organized pep assembly, or the game and the dance, MHS enjoyed it!!

Both the JV and Varsity girls basketball teams brought home victories over Pentwater tonight. JV won 30-25 and Varsity won 53-41. Congrats!
