Monday morning Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Fox's 4th grade students enjoyed participating in a mock trial at the Reed City Courthouse. Students were able to listen to a re-enactment of Jack and the Beanstalk as a court case. Jack was found guilty of trespassing and stealing a chicken.
Students learned how the court holds jury trials.

Mrs. Jones’ second grade class had the opportunity to read to Mrs. Horstman’s kindergarten class. Both classes loved the opportunity to read and talk about their books!

The MHS Thanksgiving baskets of 2024 were successfully completed and headed out to families this week! Marion Peer Advisory Council of Teens has sponsored this event for many years and added the 11 baskets to the 253 of the past. We owe thanks to following people for helping this happen:
M & J Food Market for turkey deals and keeping them frozen for us before our delivery date. (Hooray for a local store!)
VFW post 6015 Auxilary, including Amy Simons & Miss Mary, for delivery coordination
MHS office staff and counseling staff for fielding communications as needed
Class advisors for helping organize and house collections
MHS students for contributing meal items and bonus items
Students of MPACT for the planning and encouragement this year (Some of these kids are pictured with this post.)
AND a generous couple who added 2 complete meal baskets to our project, THANK YOU!
All of MHS wishes your family a blessed and safe Thanksgiving holiday.

Several classes at Marion Elementary School had their own Balloon Parade. Students constructed balloons to display in the parade. They read the story Balloons Over Broadway and watched a short video on how the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons are made. Fun and learning was had by students and staff!

On Monday the second graders visited the Marion Village Hall as part of their education about local government. Students visited the office of the village and sat at the table where the village council has their meetings. To learn about some of the different services the village provides, they stopped off at the library for a tour and a few stories. They concluded their visit with a stop at the emergency vehicle building, where they received a tour from our wonderful firefighters. Thank you to all at the people at the Marion Village Hall who helped make it a great trip for our students!

A big thank you to IMPACT and the Horseshoe Bar & Grill for helping 23 families from Marion with Thanksgiving dinner/baskets this year!
